Über den Autor
A. J. Woodman started his career at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1968-80), where he was previously an undergraduate. He was then successively Professor of Latin at Leeds University (1980-84), and Durham University (1984-2004), before moving to his present position as Basil L. Gildersleeve Professor of Classics at the University of Virginia. He has written and edited numerous books on both Latin literature and ancient historical texts.
