Über den Autor
The Editors: Marvin Perry received his Ph.D. from the City University of New York and is an associate professor of History at Baruch College, CUNY. His books include An Intellectual History of Modern Europe; Arnold Toynbee and the Crisis of the West; Toynbee: Reappraisals (co-edited with C. T. McIntire); Western Civilization: A Brief History; Western Civilization: Ideas, Politics and Society (senior author and general editor); and Sources of the Western Tradition (senior editor). Frederick M. Schweitzer earned his doctorate in modern British and European History at Columbia University and is Professor of History at Manhattan College in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. He is co-compiler of Dictionary of the Renaissance, editor of Festschrift, 1983, co-editor of The West in Global Context: A Documentary History and the author of A History of the Jews since the First Century A.D.. He is active as speaker, essayist, and reviewer in such areas as Arnold Toynbee's misinterpretation of Jewish History, messianism in the Dead Sea Scrolls, the demonization of the Jews, German History, and the Holocaust.
