Über den Autor

Hal Foster (1892-1982) was the creator of the Prince Valiant comic strip, which first appeared in February 1937 and continues to this day. Foster himself drew the strip until 1971, and continued to contribute stories and layouts for several years afterward. Foster also served as the artist for the debut of the Tarzan comic strip in 1929, adapting all of the original novel, Tarzan of the Apes, by Edgar Rice Burroughs.Rex Maxon (1892-1973) is best known as the artist of the Tarzan daily comic strip, which he drew for over eighteen years, more than 5,200 strips. Between 1929 and 1947, Maxon drew 22 Tarzan story adaptions, including The Return of Tarzan and The Son of Tarzan. For brief periods he also scripted the strip and drew the larger, color Sunday strip as well. After leaving Tarzan in 1947, Maxon worked as a freelancer, predominantly on cowboy stories. Among his other work, he contributed to the first issue of Dell's Turok, Son of Stone.
