This is thefirst-ever English language anthology of zenithism, an eclectic avant-gardemovement unique to the Yugoslav region that existed 1921-1927. Zenithism'sfounder Ljubomir Micic envisioned the movement as a fusion of futurism, dada,constructivism, expressionism, and proto-surrealism, driven by what he calledthe barbarogenius. Über den Autor


Aleksandar BoSkovic is aLecturer in Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian in the Department of SlavicLanguages at Columbia University. He is the author of The Poetic Humor in Vasko Popa's Oeuvre (Institutefor Literature and Art in Belgrade, 2008). In collaboration with Jennifer H.Zoble, he translated Dragan Aleksic's poem and an interview with Milenko Matanovicand TomaS salamun, which appeared on WWB and MoMA post, respectively. Histranslation of Vladimir Mayakovsky's poem To the Workers of Kursk withcommentaries was published as a zine-catalogue for the exhibition of YuriRozhkov's photomontage series held at the Harriman Institute in 2015. He iscurrently working on Slavic Avant-Garde Cinépoetry, across-cultural and interdisciplinary exploration of interwar photopoetry andbioscopic books within Slavic avant-gardes. Steven Teref'stranslations include Ana Ristovic's Directions for Use, shortlistedfor the National Book Critics Circle Award, Best Translated Book Award, and theNational Translation Award, and Novica Tadic's Assembly.His translations have appeared in The NewYorker, Aufgabe, 6x6, and elsewhere. He is currentlytranslating the Yugoslav avant-garde writers Branko Ve Poljanski and MID.He co-founded with Maja Teref and edited the journal Ricochet Review. Steven is the author of ForeignObject, Pleasure Objects Teaser, and The Authentic Counterfeit.He is Co-Chief Copy Editor for Asymptote.
