York explores the archaeology, art, architecture and cultural heritage of the city in the late Middle Ages.In the years since the resurrection of the British Archaeological Association conference in 1976, the association has met in the city only once (in 1988), for a conference that celebrated Yorkshire Monasticism. Her research focus is stained glass history and conservation.Sarah Rees Jones is Professor of Medieval History at the University of York. She specialises in the history of the later Middle Ages, with a particular interest in urban societies and the lived environment.Tim Ayers is Professor of the History of Art at the University of York. He specializes in English art of the later Middle Ages, with a particular research interest in stained glass.
