Although social scientists and practitioners have shown an increased interest in the inclusion of trans persons in recent years, the current position of this group in the (medical/psychological/nursing) care system remains under-researched. Über den Autor
Max Nicolai Appenroth is a trans activist and Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Public Health at the Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin. His research, teaching, and activism focus on the (in)accessibility of healthcare for trans people on an international level.María do Mar Castro Varela is a professor of pedagogy and social work at the Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin. In her research, she focuses on intersectional gender and queer studies, postcolonial studies and critical education.
