Topology in Optics (Second Edition)
Tying light in knots
Topology in Optics: Tying light in knots (Second Edition)provides the background needed to understand a broad range of unexpectedphenomenon and developments arising from topological effects in optics.Assuming only a background in physics at the advanced undergraduate level,it requires no prior familiarity with topology. Revised and expanded with two newchapters, Topological Photonics and Optical Knots and Links, thiswill be an invaluable reference for undergraduate and graduate students as wellas researchers and engineers in optics and related areas. Key FeaturesThe first book to cover indetail the use of topology in optical physics.Self-cont…

Über den Autor
After a bachelor's degree fromOhio State University, David Simon earned doctoral degrees in theoreticalphysics (Johns Hopkins) and engineering (Boston University), he now worksprimarily in quantum optics and related areas. He has been the author orcoauthor of several books and dozens of research papers on topics ranging fromthe use of supersymmetry in quantum mechanics to applications of quantumentanglement in optical measurement and cryptography. He is currently Professorof Physics at Stonehill College (Easton, MA), program manager of the photonicscertificate program there, and a visiting researcher at Boston University.
