Every vote counts. Or does it? The most explosive book yet from the bestselling author who upsets all the right people (Noam Chomsky). How will Trump steal 2020? It's not a question of will he or won't he, but rather how his administration is already doing it by purging you from the voter rolls. In How Trump Stole 2020 bestselling author and journalist Greg Palast reveals the methods behind the mendacity. Palast was the first reporter to uncover Interstate Crosscheck, the illegal national voter-purging program sanctioned by the Republican party and run by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach. Of the 30 states that signed on to disenfranchise voters through the Crosscheck program, half have now dropped out after Palast's efforts to discredit the program. Though Kobach lost his 2018 race for the US Senate, hundreds of thousands of voters in many states still have not been reinstated to voter rolls. The number one method of Republican-led voter disenfranchisement is purge by postcard, and, unfortunately it is a nominally legal maneuver. If you have moved and don't get the postcard, or simply don't respond to the postcard, your name can be removed from the voter rolls. Younger, poorer, nonwhite voters fail to respond at a much higher rate than older, white, property-owning voters. Palast goes deep in conversation with Stacey Abrams, whose election as the first black woman governor of Georgia was stolen, and who now runs Fair Fight, a nonprofit battling vote theft; with Latosha Brown, one of the most important leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement, among others, about how stolen votes affect the the most disenfranchised voters, the African-American community; and with congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez about divisions within the Democratic party and how they're affecting the vote. Lastly, Palast reveals the new rogue's gallery of billionaire's who have a vested, financial interest in foiling democracy by means of the stolen vote, starting with John Paulson. Want to understand how to protect your vote? The rules change from state to state, so first, you need to be informed. Start here.
