Death gives meaning to our lives. It gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it. The philosophical enterprise took root with questions that bothered on the origin of 'all things'; this was not the concern of Heidegger. Heidegger's ontology centred on the meaning and purpose of 'Being' rather than its origin.
