The Notes are smaller works and fragments that may still be considered significant. These were often directed to individuals or issues of the day and then formalized into more generic notes as remembrances. At other times these constitute essays that had been abandoned prior to completion (disinterest being a primary reason for the abandonment), but which are along various stages of development.
