Over forty years have passed since I wrote this manuscript describing my marriage with David. I had grown up in a sheltered middle class environment, and had never seen--much less experienced--any sort of domestic violence. Über den Autor
Judit Martin grew up in America, but has been living in the Swedish countryside for the past 50 years. As a single mother, she taught English and later worked as a weather observer for the Swedish weather bureau. Although she has been writing most of her life, it is only in recent years that she has begun publishing her works, which range from novels to short stories to documentaries to a photo book. And now a memoir of her seven-year marriage controlled by domestic violence, in the hope of reaching others in the same situation. Presently she is working on her third historical novel, portraying peasant life in Sweden at the beginning of the 1700s.
