Oral cancer is the fifth most common cause of death in India for people less than 75 years old. Chronic inflammation is a risk factor for tumor development. Surveillance in oral cancer is the detailed data on the different types of cells and mechanisms involved in oral cancer. It mainly involves the three Es. It covers the factors involved in invasion and later elimination. It reviews the process of cancer immunoediting from immune surveillance to escape and inflammation induced cancer and discussing role of danger signal receptors in cancer development and progression.
