A typological and parametric study of Bangla and Asamiya nominal structures following the DP Analysis within Minimalism
The structure of Determiner Phrase (DP) proposed by Abney 1987 was a new designation for the erstwhile Noun Phrase(NP). The shift of syntactic headship of nominals consolidated the hypothesis that phrasal and clausal architectures are similar. Examination of Determiner Phrases of two languages involves an understanding of the relations between various constituents of a nominal structure. Über den Autor
Dr Rajat Ghosh teaches linguistics at Majan University College, Muscat, Oman. He has an M.Phil in Linguistics and Phonetics from Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad, India and a Ph.D from Tezpur University, India. He taught the UG studentns of the University of Calcutta and the PG students of Dibrugarh University.
