Über den Autor
Steve Mason obtained both his B.Sc. (Biochemistry) and Ph.D. (Animal Science) from the University of British Columbia. Following a post-doctoral fellowship in medical pharmacology at the University of Calgary, he became a sheep farmer for several years, which led to stints as Provincial Sheep Specialist and, later, Provincial Livestock Nutritionist with the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture. Moving back to Alberta, Steve became Manager of ProLivestock Nutrition/Management Specialists, a consulting unit of United Grain Growers, later Agricore United. Subsequently, after a short assignment as Senior Extension Associate with Cornell University's Pro-Dairy program, Steve established AgroMedia International Inc., a business that provides knowledge translation and transfer services, as well as contract scientific and technical support to the Canadian livestock industries. Operating under the name AgInformatics, the company also provides data management and analysis services to the agricultural research community. More recently, a partnership operating as Farm Animal Care Associates has focused on assisting livestock producers with the adoption of best management practices for animal health and welfare. Since 2010, Steve has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor with the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, teaching nutrition, mentoring graduate students and participating in research.
