Bonding to tooth tissue can be achieved through etch, prime and bond or through self etch approach. Sclerotic dentin is not a usual bonding substrate that exhibits a high degree of variability, both in terms of blocking the dentinal tubules and in relation to the thickness of the surface hyper mineralized layer.
