Scenes from a Vanished Life
Buch
In the first memoir from the author of The Gustav Sonata, a childhood in the austerity of post-war London occasionally enriched by visits to Tremain's grandparents Hampshire farm, and the loss of this relative stability following a series of family deaths and a change of scene to an alienating boarding school, are reflected upon as literary beginnings essential to the development of Rose Tremain's literary presence today.
