Role of NEXUS criteria and CCR in blunt neck trauma
NEXUS low Risk Criteria and Canadian Cervical Spine Rules are well-validated clinical decision aid that can be used to safely rule out cervical spine injury in alert, stable trauma patients without the need to obtain radiographic images. Here I have shared experience of our cases that can be practically applicable in tertiary care center to minimize discomfort to the patient, minimize radiation exposure and early discharge from emergency department.Further application can be done in primary healthcare center to rule out serious injuries where X-ray facilities are not available.
