Risk of Foot Ulcer and its Determinants among Type 2 Diabetic Subjects
in Bangladesh
Foot ulceration is one of the major consequences experienced by the patients with diabetes in any time of their life course. Available evidence indicated that diabetic patients have up to 25% lifetime risk of developing a foot ulcer. It has major economic consequence for patients, their families and society that turn towards a poor quality of life. The commonest causes of foot ulcers in people with diabetes are peripheral neuropathy, foot deformity, Charcot joint, external trauma, peripheral vascular disease and peripheral edema.
