Coffee being a non alcoholic beverage, it is well known for its stimulating effect on the brain. This prompted the coffee growing countries to adopt the plant improvement programme through conventional and advanced breeding techniques. Dr Anil Kumar have 25years of working experience in coffee Plant Improvement programme and acquired his Ph.D. degree in coffee breeding from Gandhigram Rural University, Gandhigram. He developed the new techniques such as use of morphological proportions for identification of parental traits and quantification of genetic traits transmission in F1.
