Properties of Aquifer Material obtained from Burhi Gandak Basin
Ground water has rapidly emerged to occupy a dominant place in India's agriculture and food security in the recent years. Groundwater in India is a critical resource. However, an increasing number of aquifers are reaching unsustainable levels of exploitation. The knowledge of the well lithology and aquifer properties are essential for the development and safe utilization of ground water. Particle size analysis of aquifer material is important for knowing porosity, hydraulic conductivity and coefficient of uniformity.
