This book intends to delineate a pluralist and dynamic model of practical action which would fully take into account the modern conception of agency that is by and large prevailing in current social sciences research. Albert Ogien is research director at the CNRS. He currently works on the sociology of action (La sociologie après Wittgenstein ; Les règles de la pratique sociologique) ; and has recently published, with Sandra Laugier, a wide-ranging inquiry on the experience of democracy (Pourquoi désobéir en démocratie?; Le Principe démocratie; Antidémocratie).
