Plants are a rich source of a wide range of medications, including antispasmodics, emetics, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, and so on. Bougainvillea was named after Louis de Bougainville, a global traveller who discovered it in Brazil in the eighteenth century and brought it to Europe, where it became well-known for its adaptability, extravagance, and ability to thrive in polluted natural settings.
