In early 1918, it seemed to many that the British people and the Allies were close to defeat. At home, the chief culprit was the German U-boat. Über den Autor
Ernest Coleman served in the Royal Navy for 36 years, in everything from submarines to aircraft carriers. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and Chairman of the Naval Historical Collectors and Research Society. He is a member of the Society for Nautical Research and of the Navy Records Society. He is the author of Khaki Jack, Rank and Rate, and The Royal Navy in Polar Exploration Vols I and II.
