Larry Williamson grew up in Tallassee, on the banks of the Tallapoosa River in the heart of the sacred ancestral lands of the Muskogi Creeks. An Auburn engineering graduate, he is now a retired high school math teacher of thirty-six years, who also coached football and track. He currently teaches Writing Your Novel Workshop for the Outreach Program at Auburn University. Larry's first book was the historical novel Tallapoosa, about the Creek Indian War of 1813-14. Muskogi Sunset, concerning the Second Creek War of 1836, is the sequel to Tallapoosa. Among his other works are Over the River, Long Ago, a collection of tales about growing up in the textile mill town of Tallassee in the 1940s and '50s, and Legend of the Tallassee Carbine: A Civil War Mystery.
