As a coastal Texas native and frequent visitor of the beaches ofFlorida the Gulf of Mexico provided the inspiration to become amarine biologist. I received my BS in Marine Biology from theUniversity of Texas and then moved to New Zealand for my MScworking with elasmobranchs. I now work as an observer for AIS andthe National Marine Fisheries.
