The book presents the results of ten years of fieldwork in the Senegambia in an anthropological archaeology perspective. The research is regional is scope and integrates different categories of data to decipher what the local megalithic tradition was all about. Augustin F.C. Holl (PhD 1983, Sorbonne, Habilitation Doctorate 1994, Paris X-Nanterre). Professor at the University of California, San Diego, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the university of Paris-Nanterre, Deputy director of the InSHS - CNRS, and professor at Xiamen University (China). He has published 12 books and numerous journals papers.
