Über den Autor
Goliarda Sapienza was born in Catania, Italy in 1924. She moved to Rome at the age of 16 to study at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, followed by a career as an actress in both films and the theater. She wrote several novels, including The Art of Joy, which remained unpublished until after her death.Brian Robert Moore worked for several years in the Italian publishing industry, including as foreign fiction editor of the publishing house Chiarelettere. He holds a degree in Comparative Literature and Italian Studies from Brown University and received a MPhil in Irish Writing from Trinity College Dublin. His translations have appeared in publications such as Asymptote and The Arkansas International. He divides his time between Philadelphia and his hometown of New York City.
