From the 2nd century BC, the view emerged in China that the intent of the author is crucial to a poem's composition and understanding. Dr. Wang Ying is a Research Fellow, Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor of Institute of Literature at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She is also the fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and Deputy Secretary General of Chinese Society for Aesthetics. Her main research field is Literary and Cultural Studies.
