This work proposes a knowledge-based approach for multimedia adaptation using Semantic Web Services technology as a tool for declaratively describing the semantics of adaptation services and constructing multi-step adaptation sequences in an open and extensible multimedia adaptation framework. Klaus Leopold was born in Wolfsberg, Austria in 1977. He studiedcomputer science and received his PhD at the KlagenfurtUniversity in 2006. His research area was multimedia adaptation,distributed multimedia systems, and the semantic web. Afterwardshe founded a Web 2.0 company with three partners.
