Kaizen, first and foremost, builds the employees morale and self - respect. Company benefits from worker''s participation as well as from the aggregate financial benefits of the ideas. The concept of Kaizen is deeply ingrained in everybody''s mind at plant of medium sized company manufacturing cold rolled steel strips. More number of cold rolling mills is coming in the market and every one is trying to increase the profitability, which can only be possible through the continuous improvement in every field. An attempt has been done to implement Kaizen practice in a process industry to increase the overall profit of the company. A steering committee has been formed to monitor the overall Kaizen initiation and implementation. Different projects are selected in the field of consumable cost by reducing the consumption of fuel and power; quality defect by reducing the defect of gauge variation and stickers marks; and increase the production of bottleneck production line.
