Ipsilateral fracture of proximal femur along with shaft femur fracture
An analysis of different surgical treatment modalities
The combination dual implant (preferably DHS+DFN/CCS+DFN) for treatment ipsilateral proximal and shaft femur fractures little better than single implant. They creates bio-mechanically stable construct allow early full weight bearing( partial weight bearing early in Long PFN but delay in full weight bearing because of delay union of shaft). Distal nail provide polar moment of inertia and proximal plates provide static moment of inertia at fracture site which was not hindering the union at shaft. Dr Tripathi has passed his MS(ortho) from {MS, BHU, Varanasi. Dr Deepak Rai is MS(Ortho) from AMU and also MNAMS and is currently working as Senior Resident in Trauma centre, IMS, BHU.
