Über den Autor
Douglas Bernstein is Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA, and Courtesy Professor of Psychology, University of South Florida, USA. He founded the Association for Psychological Science's Preconference Institute on the Teaching of Psychology, as well as the APS Preconference Institute on the Teaching of Psychological Science at the APS International Convention of Psychological Science. He was also the founding chairman of the Steering Committee for the APS Fund for the Teaching and Public Understanding of Psychological Science. In 2013, he stepped down after 30 years as chairman of the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology.Giuseppina Marsico is Associate Professor of Development and Educational Psychology at the University of Salerno (Italy), Affiliated Researcher at the Centre for Cultural Psychology, Aalborg University (Denmark), Visiting Professor at the Ph.D Program in Psychology, Federal University of Bahia, (Brazil) and Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney (Australia). She has 18 years of experience as a researcher, and she operates within a dense international research network. She is editor-in-chief of two book series, including Cultural Psychology of Education (Springer) and Latin American Voices-Integrative Psychology and Humanities (Springer). She is co-editor (with Jaan Vaisiner) of SpringerBriefs Psychology and Cultural Developmental Sciences and (with Carlos Conejo and Jaan Vaisinder) Annals of Cultural Psychology: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind and Society (InfoAge Publishing, North Carolina, USA,). She is also co-editor of Human Arenas. An Interdisciplinary Journal of Psychology, Culture and Meaning (Springer), associate editor of Cultural & Psychology Journal (Sage) and Social Psychology of Education (Springer), and a member of the editorial boards of several international academic journals, including Integrative Psychological & Behavioral Science (Springer).Susanne Narciss is full professor and head of the research team Psychology of Learning & Instruction (PsyLI) at the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. The PsyLI-team conducts theory-driven psychological research on issues related to life-long learning and instruction within socio-technical systems. Susanne's research includes: (a) promoting self-regulated learning, (b) the role of motivation and metacognition in instructional contexts, (c) conditions and effects of interactive learning tasks, and (d) conditions and effects of informative tutoring feedback strategies. For this latter work she received the prestigious American Association on Educational Communication & Technology (AECT) Distinguished Development Award in 2007. Susanne is member of the founding executive board of the European Society for Psychology Teaching and Learning (ESPLAT), and was elected ESPLAT's Vice-President at the EuroPLAT conference in 2017.Joerg Zumbach is full professor for Teaching and Learning Research at the University of Salzburg, Austria. His expertise is within the field of Educational and Instructional Psychology with a focus on digital media. He earned his Diploma and Doctorate in Psychology at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Current research interests include fostering of metacognitive strategies when learning with simulations and animations, inquiry-based learning, and learning in higher education contexts. Joerg organized the 2017 EuroPLAT conference in Salzburg, where he initiated the founding of the European Society for Psychology Teaching and Learning (ESPLAT), and now serves as its General Secretary.
