Fred Dervin is Professor of Multicultural Education at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He also holds distinguished professorships in Australia, Canada, China, Luxembourg, Malaysia and Sweden. Ashley Simpson is a Lecturer in Language Education at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
