Über den Autor
Fredric Brown (1906-1972) was an American sci-fi and mystery writer, renowned for his pioneering work in the short-short genre. His truncated stories, rarely more than three pages long, often had surprise endings and highly inventive twists. One of his best-known tales, Arena, inspired an episode of Star Trek by the same name. Brown also wrote a number of full-length novels, including What Mad Universe, The Lights in the Sky are Stars, and Martians, Go Home. Many of his novels were satires of the genre, full of unexpected humor and razor-sharp observational wit. Brown's first novel, The Fabulous Clipjoint, was awarded the Edgar Award. His novel The Screaming Mimi was adapted into a movie starring Gypsy Rose Lee and Anita Ekberg.
