Highway One
Laura Olsen, whose life is interrupted by a pending divorce, travels to northern California to housesit a bed and breakfast inn for an old college friend. From the beginning, she gets involved with the small village of Mendocino and the death of one of its residents. She finds herself in great danger. The town sheriff, a handsome man of her age, tries to get her to stay out of the mystery, but Laura doesn't heed his advice. This is Joyce's fourth cozy mystery using different venues. She enjoys writing especially during this period in our lives where we are all staying inside more. She states writing a mystery is like working a puzzle. As stories evolve so do the characters and they take on lives of their own. Joyce, a retired special education teacher, was born and raised in California where she still lives in a small coastal town.
