High-speed MRI-guided near-infrared tomography of breast hemodynamics
Diffuse spectroscopic imaging of breast cancer with near-infrared (NIR) light can be integrated into MRI, to provide local molecular information about the tissue regions. Dynamics within the tissue from pulsatile blood volume and oxygenation levels can be indicative of cellular proliferation and angiogenesis. Additionally the pharmacokinetics and leakage of optical contrast agents within these tissues can be helpful in tumor diagnosis. Measurement of these events requires a fast NIR imaging system. Über den Autor
Zhiqiu Li received his college education at Tsinghua University in China, where he received a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in electrical engineering. He got his PhD in biomedical engineering from Dartmouth College in the US, where his focus was high-speed near-infrared imaging for breast cancer diagnosis. His current focus is medical physics.
