Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is one of the most ancient and extensively grown leguminous crops of India. It is an excellent source of high-quality protein (25%), carbohydrates (60%), and vitamin A. The Mungbean in Bundelkhand is grown using local varieties entirely in dryland conditions and on residual soil fertility on account of its higher net returns.
