Essential Law and Ethics In Nursing

Paul Buka, MSc (Leic.), PGCE, LL.B (Hons) (Law), FETC (City and Guilds, 7307), HNC (Public Admin law), RN, RNT, ENB 998, ENB 923, MIHM, FHEA, Member of the Institute of Medical Ethics is lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of Essex, UK, specialising in healthcare law and ethics. Previously senior lecturer and Programme Lead (ONP) at the University of West London, UK, for twelve years. Paul completed his nurse training in Fife Scotland, specialising in Trauma and Orthopaedics and gained clinical experience in Acute Medicine for older people, Trauma and Orthopaedics and working briefly in Mental Health. As a ward manager, Paul had a keen interest in legal studies reading, law from HNC, degree to postgraduate level, and criminology (vulnerable people, victims of violence), choosing to specialize in healthcare law and ethics. Paul started teaching law in FE at Diploma level and Healthcare Law and ethics in HE from undergraduate to post registration/graduate levels. He has also gained several years of teaching in other aspects of nurse education. Paul has authored and co-authored several publications in this area.??
