Polyisobutenes (or polyisobutylenes in American English) are amongst the first plastics ever synthesised intentionally by humankind. During the World Wars the need of natural rubber for automotive applications and war machines induced a shortage that ultimately boosted the development of new families of synthetic rubbers. Über den Autor
Educated in Chemistry Antonio Guerrero completed a PhD on the synthesis of new types of butyl rubber using novel organometallic initiators at the University of East Anglia (UK). He is currently interested in semiconductig materials for OLED and OPV applications. Antonio is the inventor of two patents and the author of more than 20 papers.
