Ecology of Medicinal Plants in the Egyptian Deserts
The book aimed to study the effect of soil variables and climatic conditions on the composition of and bioactive compounds essential oils from Deverra tortuosa in the coastal desert (West Alexanderia.) and inland desert (Wadi Hagul), Egypt. Thirty seven species were recorded associated with D. tortuosa in both habitats of which 32 were recorded in the coastal desert and fifteen species in inland desert. Prof. Serag completed his PhD in Ecology from Mansoura-Lund Universities Channel System 1989. Currently working as professor of Ecology at Damietta University. He published more than 108 research papers in national and international journals and 14 e books. He is interested in plant diversity and management of natural resources.
