RAISED IN HARTSELLE, ALABAMA, Nancy Owen Nelson has published articles in several academic journals and anthologies and has co-edited and edited academic books. Her poetry is published in What Wildness is This? (University of Texas Press, March 2007), South Dakota Review and Graffiti Rag, and her creative nonfiction pieces in Mom's Writing Literary Journal (Fall, 2008), Lalitamba Journal, and Roll (Telling Our Stories Press, 2013). Her memoir, Searching for Nannie B: Connecting Three Generations of Southern Women, was published by Ardent Writer Press in 2015, and her poetry books, My Heart Wears No Colors (FutureCycle Press), 2018, and Portals: A Memoir in Verse (Kelsay Books) in 2019.
