Deforestation, sectoral CO2 emissions, environmental pollution nexus
Evidence from Nigeria
The main aim of this paper is to examine the impact of deforestation and sectoral CO2 emissions on environmental pollution in Nigeria using an autoregressive distributed lag covering 1970-2016 periods. Economic growth was utilized as a control series. The long-run result revealed that the estimated values of transport sector CO2 emissions, power sector CO2 emissions and deforestation have significant positive sign with environmental pollution.
