DENTIST ON THE WARD 2017 (7TH)

Dentist on the Ward is written for students and recently qualified dental surgeons working in hospital departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the first time. As well as being an introduction for those with no prior experience it provides much of the basic knowledge of medical subjects that any dentist will need for non-specialist examinations in an uncomplicated and concise format. The text provides essential information necessary for the new dentally qualified recruit on hospital procedures, practical tasks which they will have to carry out, background clinical information which relates to the work they will do and an introduction to the clinical work of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. The book is edited, expanded and updated with a new edition each year to take account of changes in practice, regulation and hospital procedures. For the 7th (2017) edition four chapters have been rewritten and updated and four new chapters on oral medicine conditions that present to Oral & Maxillofacial departments have been added. Dentist on the Ward is written by two Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons with decades of experience in supervising and teaching young dentists working in their departments. It simplifies the essential surgical and medical knowledge needed for hospital work.
