Choloroquine
Review & Experimental Study of its Therapeutic & Adverse Properties
It all began in 1971 at the Department of Physiology of Ghana Medical School when an injection of chloroquine into the gastrocnemius of an in vivo nerve muscle preparation of an anaesthetised dog demonstrated a reversible reduction in muscle twitch contractions. This finding was studied further in detail including experiments with microelectrode at the end plate in frogs. Over a period of five years and later, experiments in various systems, organs and tissues were carried out at the same laboratory. Über den Autor
Prof. Chinyanga's university education covers the following institutions: Rhodesia & Nyasaland, Hebrew University, University of Ghana, University of Toronto, University of Lund, and the University of Zimbabwe. He was the medical liaison officer at the Avenues Clinic from 2011 to 2018. He has mentored many students in Physiology and Anesthetics.
