Pharmacology of Novel Thienopyrimidinone Derivatives
Thienopyrimidinones are the bioisoster of quinazoline heterocyclics and unlike quinazoline, it exists in three possible annulations of thiophene to the pyrimidine ring viz thieno[2,3-d] pyrimidine, thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine and thieno[3,4-d]pyrimidine. Thienopyrimidinones moiety exhibits various activities like analgesic, antihypertensive, platelet aggregation inhibitors, antiprotozoal, a bronchodilator, phosphodiesterase inhibitor and antihistaminic activities.
