Über den Autor
Berenike Jung completed a PhD thesis on political torture in contemporary U.S. and Chilean cinema at Warwick University's Film and Television Department. She explored relation of documentary evidence of factual torture cases - or frequently, a lack thereof - to their fictionalization in film. The original twist of the thesis is to move beyond issues of representation and historical veracity, and instead to discuss the torture in these films in relation to current media and cinema theory, as reflected in the films, demonstrated by close textual analysis. She has published Narrating Violence?in Post-9/11 Action Cinema in 2010 and a number of articles.Stella Bruzzi, Director of Research for Film and Television Studies, has written the highly acclaimed New Documentary, amongst many other publications. In 2011 she was awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship.
