Gary Gerstle is the Paul Mellon Professor of American History at the University of Cambridge. He is coeditor, with Steve Fraser, of The Rise and Fall of the New Deal Order, 1930-1980. Nelson Lichtenstein is Distinguished Professor of History at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
