Über den Autor

A designer, teacher, and multigenerational fan, Mike often sees the world in unusual ways. One is how our latter years mirror our early years. Mike collected alikes for years while pondering how to best share them so they might find delight across generations. The answer became the children's picture book Are They Alike? because children's books are as enjoyable to adults as to children. Mike's bookshelves still hold a handful of children's books he read again and again with his grandparents. Much later he discovered his favorite from that collection was by Peter Newell, the author/illustrator who inspired Dr. Seuss. Mike can't answer whether it is the designer in him that led to his love of children's books or the honesty and simplicity of children's books that led him to design. Mike and his children's-book-loving wife live in Wisconsin and shower their grandchildren with books they hope will never be outgrown.
