Architecture and Urban Development

Recorded here are the important contributions made by the authors to the fields of environmental chemistry, biology and technology, environmental analysis: planning, management and assessment, environmental cleaner production, pollution control and ecological restoration, waste disposal and recycling, hydrology and water resource engineering, soil and water conservation and desertification control, ecological and environmental protection, land resources environment and planning.Peer-reviewed papers from an October 2012 conference are presented here in sections on architectural design theory, urban planning, design and engineering, landscape planning and design, and novel construction materials and functional materials. Some specific topics are monitoring of thermal degradation in fireproof coating, micro-macro characterization of granular materials, and low-carbon land use patterns, and urban fringe area planning. Other subjects covered include delimiting methods of protected domains of ancient large-scale city-sites, Chicago's greenest house and trends in green architecture, green reconstruction of the Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, and design of energy saving windows for residential buildings in cold regions.
