The emergence of resistance to existing antimicrobial agents is a pressing concern for human health. The effort in this regard has resulted in the identification of novel molecules which can resist pathogens developing resistance. One group of compounds explored for such novel properties are the antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He did his PhD from NIPER, Mohali, India and post-doc from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. Dr Sharma's research interests include nano-peptide conjugates, chemical ligation and unnatural amino acid synthesis.
